{Life: C'mon 2012!}

I, for one, am really looking forward to 2012.  In addition to MES and my wedding, two other very near-and-dear to our heart couples are also tying the knot.  2012 is looking to be an amazing year for all of us and I can't wait to get started!

{Wedding Fever: We're Engaged!}

I'm going to say this plainly and up front... WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING BACKWARDS!

We picked the venue back in September, picked the date in October, and in November we put down the deposit on the venue, confirmed the photographer, and paid for the DJ.  Then comes December, we picked the ring and while I knew it was coming, this morning was a complete surprise!

MES wears this button down shirt that has snaps and whenever he wears it, like the punk that I am, I rip it open on him.  This morning he tried to instigate me to do it, but when it's expected, when is that fun?  However, he leaned in to give me a kiss and I saw the perfect opportunity .... and ripped open the shirt to find this!

And then this beautiful ring found its way onto my finger  :)

{Wedding Fever: 1st Draft of Save the Dates}

A few months ago I posted about Couture Maps and how I was absolutely in LOVE with the idea.  When MES and I decided on our venue, I thought these would be the perfect complement to our look and feel.  While pricey, I'm printing them myself, and they still look amazing!

Here's a first look at what our lighthouses will look like and what The Red Inn will look like on our stationary suite.  They'll be watercolored with little touches of color and printed in grey ink.

{Wedding Fever: Finding the Right Tie}

MES and I spent all weekend doing guy wedding stuff - looking for what he and his groomsmen will wear.  Between trying to find a shirt and a tie vs just finding ties for them all, we hit all the big name stores in NYC - Barneys, Bergdorf, Saks, Pink, Brooks Brothers, etc.  After a ton of walking around, we found some great ties by Alexander Olch that match our color palette and will allow MES to flaunt a little personal style with a bow tie and a pocket square.
