{Wedding Fever: And They're Off!}

Our save the dates have been sent!  We're so excited to have this first step out of the way and were thrilled with how much people have liked them!  Stephannie Barba from Couture Maps did an amazing job with the illustrations and MES was such a good sport when I suggested hand coloring the hearts and the leaves on all of them.

Dear readers, what save the dates have you seen that have really stood out to you?

{Shopaholic: Bored Shopping}

What happens when my fiance goes out of town for a week?  I shop... a LOT.  Four pairs of jeans, a pair of twill pants, and two tops later I feel satisfied, somewhat.

{Shopaholic: Christian Louboutin}

I'm a shoe-aholic.  There.  I've said it and it's true.  I have an addition to Louboutins, Manolos, and Choos.  I have thousands of dollars in foot wear and I love them all.

A couple of week's ago, Christian Louboutin launched their spring/summer 2012 line.  Given that this year they're celebrating their 20th anniversary, a lot of shoes sold out in most sizes very quickly, including these gorgeous Matrinanas.  I was very fortunate to snag the last pair in my size since they'll be PERFECT for my wedding!  The red soles will be a great accent for my bridesmaids' red shoes and the gold will go fab with my Chinese wedding dress.

{Shopaholic: Classic LL Bean tote}

I am in love with this super classic, uber New England look.  These things are amazing and can virtually withstand everything.  They can even be power washed with a hose when they get dirty and not lose their shape.  An amazing gift for any monogramaholic.

Even better??  Save 15% off of your ENTIRE purchase through Valentine's day!!  Pick up this fabulous find for your honey.

{Life: Flirty Thirty}

Yesterday the big 3-0 hit me like a sledgehammer.
Needless to say, I am one of those women who just wants to hold onto their 20's for as long as they can.  Despite the fact that this year will be an amazing year for us, getting married and all, I can't help but reminisce about my 20's:
- legally being able to drink
- travelling internationally solo for the first time
- studying abroad in HK
- my first apartment
- first time I lived with male roommates
- my first pet, not a family one
- first totaled car
- graduating college
- my first full time job, then my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th....
- being financially independent
- BUYING AN APARTMENT
- finding the love of my life (obviously this is chronological)
- getting engaged and planning a wedding

What were your favorite memories of your 20's?

{Shopaholic: Rolex}

I've been looking into buying myself a watch with money that my grandmother left me when she passed away.  It was going to be a 30th birthday present to myself since she wouldn't be around to give me one.

For YEARS I'd been looking into a Cartier Tank, a la Jackie O and numerous other leading women.  It just has this amazingly classic look to it.

However, when I started my search a few weeks ago, I really fell in love with Rolex's datejust in a two tone jubilee band.  For myself, paying the amount of money for a Tank meant that I wanted an automatic watch, not a quartz, since I'm a bit of a watch snob  ;)

Jacki, at Aaron Faber, was essential in helping me find the watch I was looking for in my price range.  She scored me a mid 90's, two tone jubilee with a fluted bezel in the mid 31mm size.  And I LOVE it!  She even found me a few original dials to choose from since a champagne dial wasn't my first choice.  So I scored a silver-toned dial with white hour markers set in 18k gold with a gold crown.  I can't wait to see it in it's final iteration  :)  Just like a custom watch!

My birthday came early this year!  I love the classic look of these and they're a wear with a t-shirt or a LBD.

{Wedding Fever: Banquet Save the Dates}

Who ever said planning was easy?  Well did they plan two?!

MES and I always knew we didn't want a big wedding, but with my family, and the family that my parents consider family, that notion was fairly far fetched.  And that is when the idea of having two wedding receptions was hatched; 1 smaller one with family and close friends and a second one with the more extended family, Chinese banquet style.

As we're planning the Provincetown ceremony are simultaneously planning a Chinese banquet in Flushing.  Timing is everything so as we're getting ready to send out the Ptown save the dates, I drafted these up for the Chinese banquet.
